Nature + Travel

{wan·der·lust: a strong desire for travel; a longing for wandering}

Twenty-five years ago, I hopped in a van as part of a group traveling out west to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity. As we traveled across state after state, I got to experience places I had only ever seen photographs of. The endless cornfields of Iowa, the vast, rugged landscape of the Badlands, the diverse wildlife of the Black Hills, the quiet, sacred space we call Devils Tower, the absolute awe of watching a thunderstorm roll across the wide open plains of eastern Colorado, the thrill of paddling through wild rapids and the culmination of all of it, standing on top of a peak in the middle of the Rocky Mountains surrounded by unspeakable beauty in all directions. Suddenly, the unknown seemed known, unanswered questions were answered. Everything was as it should be and I would never be the same. I would forever feel the gravitational pull for these magical places that speak to my soul.

I’ve always enjoyed sharing stories and photographs from my little and big adventures and others seem to enjoy them as well. Head over to my blog to follow along.

This winter, I’ll be setting up my very first online shop with desk prints, wall art, greeting cards and travel sized notebooks. Stay tuned for details!
